We’re excited to share that Acre Rigg Primary School has joined the growing list of forward-thinking schools investing in sustainable infrastructure, with the installation of three single-socket EV charge points on site.
Delivered by EV Smart and supported by the UK Government’s EV Infrastructure Grant for state-funded schools, the installation enables three electric vehicles to charge simultaneously — providing practical support for staff and visitors who drive electric.
🌱 Supporting Cleaner Travel and Climate Awareness
By installing EV charging, Acre Rigg is helping lead the charge towards a low-emission future. This upgrade supports:
Lower carbon emissions from school-related travel
The Department for Education’s Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy
Everyday learning by showing pupils how sustainability can be embedded into real life
It’s another great example of a school turning climate ambition into meaningful, visible action.
🔧 Fully Delivered by EV Smart
As with all our education-sector installations, EV Smart provided a full turnkey solution, including:
3 x Single-Socket Fast EV Charge Points
Civil and electrical works
DNO coordination and commissioning
Smart back-office setup, support and maintenance
Thanks to the government grant, Acre Rigg was able to benefit from this upgrade with minimal cost to the school.
