⚡ Albany Village Primary School Installs EV Chargers with Government Grant Support

We’re pleased to share that Albany Village Primary School in Washington has recently installed three single-socket fast EV charge points, allowing up to three electric vehicles to charge at the same time. The installation was delivered by EV Smart with support from the UK Government’s EV Infrastructure Grant for state-funded schools.

This installation is part of a wider commitment from schools across the region to support the transition to low-emission transport while unlocking new benefits for their staff and communities.

🌍 Taking Practical Steps Toward Sustainability

With transport being one of the largest sources of carbon emissions, providing EV infrastructure on school grounds helps accelerate change in a way that’s visible, impactful, and educational.

By installing EV charge points, Albany Village Primary is:

  • Supporting staff who drive electric vehicles

  • Reducing emissions associated with commuting

  • Leading by example for pupils and parents

  • Aligning with the Department for Education’s Net Zero and sustainability goals

It’s a clear message that environmental action isn’t just something talked about in lessons — it’s part of the school’s daily operations.

🔧 Delivered by EV Smart, End to End

The project included:

  • 3 x Single-Socket Fast EV Charge Points

  • Full DNO and electrical coordination

  • Integration with our smart back-office system for reporting and control

  • Maintenance and ongoing remote support

With the help of the government grant, Albany Village was able to complete this upgrade with minimal cost, while futureproofing its site and creating new opportunities for staff and visitors.
